Meet Our Partner: Ijabo Kawa
We’re pleased to be partnering with Ijabo Kawa, a Rwandan coffee brand and skills-training house bringing together two things that are too often separated: great coffee and the skills to build a livelihood around it.
Founded in Kigali in 2024, Ijabo Kawa is rooted in a simple belief: coffee is more than what is in the cup. It is craft, culture, career and community. They roast specialty-grade coffee that honours its origin while also investing in the people and skills behind every cup.
Ijabo Kawa works across the coffee experience – from roasting and supplying beans to cafés, to consultancy, events and professional training. Their Academy provides hands-on training in barista skills, beverage preparation, coffee business, menu creation and entrepreneurship.
For us, this is what makes the partnership particularly meaningful.
At Teakisi, coffee has been part of what we offer at saėėda and having Ijabo Kawa as our coffee partner and permanent coffee supplier, means bringing Rwandan coffee and a shared commitment to quality, skills and opportunity into the saėėda experience.
saėėda is about bringing people together through culture, craftsmanship, products, food, coffee and conversation, while empowering women artisans, creating opportunities and celebrating connections to Rwanda.
One of the things we particularly value about Ijabo Kawa is their commitment to training. Their approach recognises that good coffee is not just about the final cup; it is about the skills, knowledge and people behind it.
Through our partnership, we will work together to explore opportunities to support young people who are interested in the hospitality sector, helping them access training, develop practical skills and gain a better understanding of the opportunities available to them.
